Many organisations already use referrals in some form. In practice, however, these often remain isolated activities: offering a reward, sharing a vacancy internally or occasionally asking employees to recommend someone.
A referral programme only truly works when employees remain engaged, referrals are followed up properly and you continue to learn from what does and does not work.

The first three editions focused on referral recruitment . At the same time, the content broadened to include employer branding, ambassadorship, diversity, trust, and the value of relationships outside the immediate network.
This development aligns with the broader work of the Referral Specialist. Within organizations regarding referral recruitment and word-of-mouth recruitment, and within regions, sectors, and partnerships concerning Social Network Strategy .
