WEBSITE TERMS OF USE
Last updated: 1 October 2026
On The Referral Specialist’s website, we share information, insights and publications about referral recruitment, social network strategy and our services. These terms explain how you may use the website and the materials available on it.
1. Who are we?
De Referral Specialist is a trading name of De Wervingsspecialist B.V.
Our contact details:
The Referral Specialist
Middenweg 85
1098 AG Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Email: michael@dereferralspecialist.nl
Phone: +31 6 24768758
2. What do these terms cover?
These terms govern the use of our website and the articles, benchmark reports and other materials we make available through it.
We make separate agreements for consultancy assignments, research, training and other services. The quotation, engagement confirmation and any agreed general terms and conditions determine the terms applicable to that assignment.
Visiting the website, making an enquiry or requesting a free publication does not, in itself, create a paid engagement.
3. Using the website
You may visit our website, read the information and download available publications.
Please use the website in a way that respects its operation and security. You must not:
-
Deliberately disrupt or overload the website.
-
Attempt to access restricted systems or data without permission.
-
Distribute malicious software, spam or misleading information through the website.
-
Submit another person’s details through a form without a valid reason.
If you discover a technical problem or a potential security vulnerability, please report it to michael@dereferralspecialist.nl.
4. Using articles, reports and other materials
The texts, reports, illustrations, photographs, logos and other materials on this website may be protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. These rights belong to De Wervingsspecialist B.V. or the relevant creators or rights holders.
We welcome people reading and sharing our insights. The following rules apply:
-
You may share links to our pages and publications.
-
You may download our own publications for personal use and internal use within your organisation.
-
You may share our own publications internally without modifying them, provided you retain the source attribution and any acknowledgements of other rights holders.
-
You may quote short passages in, for example, a review, article or presentation, where permitted under the statutory right of quotation. Please acknowledge The Referral Specialist, include the title of the publication and, where possible, link to the source.
If you wish to make a complete publication publicly available, reproduce larger sections, modify materials or use them in a commercial product, training course or another service, please obtain permission in advance by emailing michael@dereferralspecialist.nl, unless the use is already permitted by law.
Different rules may apply to materials belonging to other rights holders. Where a publication includes specific terms of use, those terms apply to that publication.
5. Information, research and results
We take care when preparing the content of our website and publications. However, information may be incomplete, become outdated or contain errors.
Articles, benchmark findings, examples and other content provide general information. They do not constitute advice tailored to your organisation unless we have separately agreed otherwise.
Research findings should be read in the context of the group studied, the research period and the methodology described.
Results mentioned in case studies or examples relate to the specific circumstances concerned. They do not guarantee the same results for another organisation. Any specific commitments regarding objectives, performance or guarantees are set out in the agreement for the assignment.
If you notice an error or something unclear, please let us know at michael@dereferralspecialist.nl.
6. Availability and liability
We aim to provide a website that works well and is accessible. We cannot guarantee that the website will always be available or that every feature will operate without interruption or error.
Before making an important decision based on information from the website, assess whether it is suitable and up to date for your circumstances. Please contact us if you would like advice tailored to your organisation.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising solely from the temporary unavailability of the website, technical faults affecting it, or the use of general website information as individually tailored advice.
This limitation does not apply in cases of intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness by our management. It does not affect rights that cannot be limited under mandatory law.
Liability relating to paid assignments is governed by the separately agreed terms and applicable law.
7. Links to other websites
Our website may link to websites, publications and services provided by other organisations.
We do not manage those external websites and are not responsible for their content or operation. A link does not automatically mean that we endorse all the information or services on that website.
When you visit another website, that organisation’s privacy notice and terms may apply.
8. Personal data and cookies
Our privacy notice explains what personal data we use, why we use it and what rights you have. It also provides information about cookies.
Visiting our website does not automatically mean that you consent to newsletters, marketing or cookies that require consent.
9. Changes
We may update these terms if the website, available materials or applicable rules change.
The current version is available on this page. The date at the top shows when the terms were last updated.
Changes to this page do not automatically alter the terms of an existing assignment. The agreements made with the client continue to apply.
10. Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any applicable mandatory legal protections remain in effect.
If you have questions about using the website or our publications, please contact us at michael@dereferralspecialist.nl.
